Recruitment

IBPS PO 2025 – Recruitment Process

The IBPS PO Recruitment 2025 aims to select Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT) through the Common Recruitment Process (CRP), popularly known as the IBPS PO Exam. This year marks the 15th edition (IBPS PO/MT CRP XV 2025) since the CRP began in 2011. The selection process is conducted in three phases — Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview — and candidates must qualify each stage to move forward.

Phases of IBPS PO Recruitment 2025

Online Preliminary Examination

IBPS shortlists candidates based on their performance in the prelims exam to appear for the mains examination.

Online Mains Examination

Candidates must clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs in the main exam to become eligible for the interview stage.

Interview

Conducted by participating banks, coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each state or union territory, with the support of IBPS.

Final Result

The final merit list is prepared based on a candidate’s combined performance in the Mains Exam and Interview.

Provisional Allotment

Qualified candidates are provisionally allotted to banks based on their preferences submitted during the application process.

Training / Joining Process:

Selected candidates complete document verification and induction before joining as Probationary Officers.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) plays a vital role only up to the provisional allotment stage, after which the respective banks handle the joining procedures. Over the years, Public Sector Banking has become one of the most promising career options due to its attractive salary, benefits, job security, and career growth. The recruitment process dates back to 1975, when the Personnel Selection Services (PSS) was established to hire officers and clerks for public-sector banks. Later, in 1984, it was renamed Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
